Where We Are
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world that we are far more vulnerable, unequal, and deeply connected than we realized. We now understand that we cannot, must not, go back to an increasingly overheated, divided world that is leaving billions behind.
Yet the pandemic has also demonstrated that even with the wrong systems in place, we can act at speeds, scales, scopes, and levels of coordination we didn’t believe possible. We can act with courage, conviction, and commitment – ignoring cries for predatory delay and objections such as “hold on, how are we going to pay for this?”
What We Must Do
What we must do now is apply the same level of speed, coordination, and courage we generated in responding to COVID to the other critical issues we face.
If we act too slowly our legacy will be a crumbling and chaotic planet. But if we act swiftly, broadly, and together, we can yet leave the world better than we found it.
The COVID Covenant is an iron-clad commitment to make this happen – to make the impossible possible. We’re not going back, we’re going BIG. Right now.

“I solemnly commit to do what is necessary, at the speed, scale, and scope necessary, to ensure we don’t go back to a broken system – an overheating, divided, unequal world – and build a resilient, equitable, healthy world in its place.
Before the ink is dry on this Covenant, I will begin creating economic, social, and governmental change at speed, scale, and scope. I will practice – and advocate for – unprecedented levels of collaboration, and I will mobilize my organization(s) / city / company and others in my circle of influence to do the same.”
